Railway Office Foot Bridges

Vancouver, British Columbia

A new six-storey office building in construction in Vancouver's Railtown District will make use of a series of timber footbridges to join the building's two distinct concrete towers. The bridges are to be an elegant design feature passing through the building's full height, entryway atrium space connecting each level's floor plates at varying angles. Large LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) beams will be used for the bridge structure with reveals and recessed lighting for an impressive, floating aesthetic. The design includes void space in the bridge floors to provide dual-purpose as concealed routing for mechanical and electrical conduit between the towers.
