Junior Structural Engineer

Workshop Engineers is looking to hire a junior structural engineer registered as an EIT with EGBC. In this role, you would become an important member of Workshop by performing various project tasks with direct oversight from senior engineers.

Your day-to-day would include performing structural design tasks on a variety of projects as assigned to you and reviewed by your senior colleagues. This would involve performing structural calculations, developing analysis models, and producing structural design packages to support successful project delivery. Our goal would be to help you learn and grow as a structural engineer and increase project responsibly.

Workshop Engineers is a collaborative, dynamic, and detail-oriented office. The successful candidate should approach this role with an eagerness to learn and ability to remain organized while contributing to multiple projects simultaneously.

A key aspect of this work is collaborating with other staff members and external project teams, including Architects. Workshop is looking for a junior engineer that has strong communication skills, and a thoughtful, humble mindset.

One to two years experience in a similar role, previous construction experience, seismic design experience, mass timber experience, and/or proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit will be seen as assets when reviewing applications.​

Requirements

  • EIT registration with EGBC

  • Familiarity with timber, steel, and concrete design 

  • Familiarity with structural analysis software (e.g., RFEM, Sizer) 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. ​​

Details 

  • Pay: $55,000 - $70,000 salary

  • Hours: 40hrs/week

  • 4 day work week optional, and encouraged, with adjusted salary for reduced hours

  • Location: In-office (Duncan, British Columbia)
