In-Situ Seed Orchard

A styled, exposed timber frame residence and workshop elevated on steel stilts to allow vehicle traffic to pass below and to emphasize the structures light touch on the earth. An elevated steel footbridge passing over the site's undulating bedrock will connect the two independent structures. The details incorporate exposed timber structure while focusing on a high thermal and environmental performance. The project is to serve as the client's new home as well as a home base for their new foundation that is striving to reintroduce vital indigenous plant life back into Northern British Columbia .
